The Ministry of Education and CORE Education invite you to a Zoom webinar: Using Deep Learning to support effective curriculum design, presented by Margot McKeegan and Greg Carroll, CORE Education.
Local Curriculum is a cornerstone of the PLD priorities and the New Pedagogies for Deep Learning (NPDL) movement led by Michael Fullan and his team provides a valuable framework when considering your curriculum design.
The team at CORE Education have considerable experience using the 6Cs (Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking) and other Deep Learning tools and scaffolds to support schools to develop a learner centered and engaging localised curriculum.
In this webinar we will explore the frameworks provided as a part of the NPDL program and how schools and Kahui Ako have successfully used these to ensure that the learning program they develop are both challenging and engaging. Deep Learning processes for both professional learning and school development will be explored.
These sessions will be relevant to teachers, leaders, principals, tumuaki, kaiako, PLD Leads, PLD facilitators, PLD provider organisations, and regional office Ministry staff.
Michael Fullan, Global Leadership Director of New Pedagogies for Deep Learning and a worldwide authority on educational reform, discusses his recently released paper, The Right Drivers for Whole System Success.
